After the best season in the club’s history in 2022/23, Brighton managed to stay in the top half of the table and finished last season in eighth place. The success was cemented, in large part, by a brilliant end to the season: five games unbeaten, four of which were wins. Pre-season boosted the team’s confidence: four wins and a draw in five friendlies, all unbeaten.
Fulham, for their part, are consolidating their position in the mid-table of the Premiership for the third consecutive year, finishing last season in 11th place. Of particular note was a run of 18 games without a draw between January and May, in which the Londoners managed eight wins and suffered 10 defeats. The pre-season was positive: three wins in warm-up matches showed that the team is ready for the new season.
