West Ham vs Sunderland Prediction & Tips
West Ham finally ended a ten-match winless streak in the Premier League by beating their arch-rivals Tottenham 2-1 away from home thanks to a goal from Callum Wilson in the 93rd minute. The win has eased some of the pressure on embattled manager Nuno Espírito Santo, who needs his team to react in order to close the five-point gap to safety and climb out of the relegation zone. However, they will need to improve quickly in defence to avoid relegation, as despite their recent success, the Hammers have yet to keep a clean sheet in 17 league games under the Portuguese coach.
Sunderland also secured a much-needed victory in their last outing, ending a five-game winless streak (D4, L1) by beating Crystal Palace 2-1. The Black Cats came from a goal down to win, something that has become a habit this season, as they have picked up 16 points after falling behind, the second-best record in the top flight behind only Aston Villa before this matchday. Fans travelling with the team on this trip may be somewhat concerned, as Sunderland have not won in their last six away games (D3, L3), including a 3-0 defeat to Brentford on their last visit to London.
