St. Liege vs Dender Prediction & Tips
The Liège-based club stormed into the season with a 2-0 away win over RAAL La Louvière. The team showed great composure and efficiency, giving their opponents no chance near their goal. In fact, Standard settled the game almost before half-time, scoring twice in the first half.
For their part, Dender started the season in modest but very orderly fashion: a goalless opening day draw against Cercle Brugge. The team defended with a lot of depth, lining up almost five defenders in a row and closing the spaces well. It was difficult to penetrate the wall, especially near the box.
However, Dender’s attack was practically non-existent. The ball circulated through the midfield with no forward movement or danger. The lack of ideas and creativity in attack is a serious problem, especially in view of the upcoming visit to the stadium of a pressing and dominating opponent.
