Racing, in general, has a history that is perhaps not so brilliant, but quite decent. However, it recently managed to get out of a long bad patch: after being relegated for the last time from Primera in 2012, it quickly fell even to the third division, where it spent several seasons. On the other hand, after returning in 2022, last spring they lost sixth place to Oviedo only on tie-breaker criteria.
Now it has even managed to improve. It had every chance of direct promotion to LaLiga, at least from second place. But the final stretch was unsuccessful, and they finally scored 71 points and finished fifth.
Mirandes was founded almost a century ago. But it was not until 2012 that it was promoted to the second division for the first time. From there they were relegated after a couple of years, but quickly returned. Since then they have maintained their status, albeit with modest results. So much so that a year ago they finished in eighteenth position.
