South American qualifications for the World Cup kick off with the 36th meeting between Paraguay (# 40 in the FIFA Ranking) and Peru (# 22) – the record of clashes with each other so far slightly favors Paraguay (G13 , E10, P12). The matches in which Paraguay participates are usually hotly contested, as eight of their last nine matches have produced less than 2.5 goals in total (G2, E4, P3 – 90 minutes).
