Mauritius vs Cameroon Prediction & Tips
Mauritius is going through a difficult qualifying cycle: the team is second from bottom in Group D, with only five points from eight matches. Their only victory dates back to June 2024, when the islanders beat Eswatini (2–1).
Since then, Guillaume Moullec’s side has been inconsistent, struggling in both defence and attack: 15 goals conceded and just seven scored speak for themselves. At home, Mauritius will try to play cautiously, but an opponent of Cameroon’s calibre is unlikely to allow the hosts to put up much of a fight.
Cameroon comes into the match knowing that dropping points could be fatal. After losing to Cape Verde (0-1), Marc Brys’ team lost control of the fight for first place, although it still has an excellent chance of qualifying for the World Cup as one of the best runners-up.
The Indomitable Lions remain the highest-scoring team in the group with 15 goals and have a powerful squad: Aboubakar, Choupo-Moting, Mbeumo and Zambo Anguissa can decide the match on their own. Cameroon will look to exploit Mauritius’ defensive weaknesses and take home three decisive points.
