Malta vs Netherlands Prediction & Tips
Malta heads into this clash against one of the group favourites in a gloomy mood. Emilio De Leo’s side has picked up just two points from eight games, drawing twice with Lithuania and losing six times. As a result, Malta sits bottom of the group, one point behind Lithuania.
The Netherlands, for their part, remain firmly at the top of the group, despite a hiccup in September when they drew 1-1 with Poland. Ronald Koeman’s men quickly rectified the situation by beating Lithuania, thus retaining first place on goal difference.
The Oranje have a formidable attacking line led by Memphis Depay, who has become the national team’s all-time leading scorer, and a solid midfield orchestrated by Frenkie de Jong and Ryan Gravenberch. Back on home soil, Koeman’s team is confident that a win in Malta would be a decisive step towards direct qualification for the World Cup.
