Kosovo remain bottom of their group. Franco Foda’s side have lost all their matches and their defence looks far too vulnerable: they conceded four unanswered goals against Switzerland and, in general, rarely manage to keep a clean sheet in this qualifying campaign. The home factor doesn’t help either: in eight of nine home games in the World Cup qualifiers, the Kosovars have been defeated and only once have they managed a draw.
Sweden, under coach Jon Dahl Tomasson, are going through a difficult patch. Five games without a win in the standings is a serious warning that the team has not yet found stability. However, the 2-2 draw against Slovenia showed that the attacking line is capable of creating chances and scoring, even if the defence makes mistakes. The key will be the finishing of Viktor Gyökeres and Anthony Elanga.
