After winning Euro 2020, the Italians have fallen on hard times. Qualification for the last World Cup ended in a fiasco, with an embarrassing play-off elimination against North Macedonia, causing the squadra azzurra to miss out on the biggest global tournament for the second time in a row.
Moldova remains, as usual, on the periphery of European football, unable to boast serious results. They have no big-name players and the overall level of the team leaves much to be desired.
