Heidenheim vs RB Leipzig Prediction & Tips
After a frustrating 1-1 draw against Wolfsburg, in which Heidenheim let their lead slip in the final minutes, the team has now gone five league games without a win (D2, L3), keeping them at the bottom of the table. The 13 points earned so far represent Heidenheim’s worst start to a Bundesliga season since their promotion in 2023, jeopardising manager Frank Schmidt’s incredible unbeaten record since taking charge in 2007. Facing RB Leipzig does not help to calm the mood, as FCH are still looking for their first point against a team in the top six of the table this season (L6), having conceded six goals and scored none at home against these opponents.
RB Leipzig have lost three of their last four matches and conceded 11 goals in that run, a worrying situation, but the team have shown great consistency in recent years and are only two points off their record at this stage of the last three seasons in the top flight. A mitigating factor is that their two most recent defeats have been against the last two Bundesliga champions, while they have a perfect record this season against the bottom seven teams before the matchday (W6). Although they have not won in their last three away games (D1, L2), RBL’s away form since September gives cause for optimism ahead of this match (W4, D2, L2).
