Brighton vs Manchester City Prediction & Tips
Following a home draw against Fulham and a defeat to Everton, Brighton are at risk of failing to win any of their first three league games for only the second time in the last 16 seasons. The previous occasion was on their Premier League debut, when the Seagulls finished 15th, but they have made undeniable progress since then. There is no cause for alarm, especially considering that their performance has remained fairly high, with Brighton scoring only one goal with an xG of 3.91 in their first two league games.
Manchester City thrashed Wolves 4-0 on the opening day but suffered a 2-0 defeat against Tottenham last weekend, with goalkeeper James Trafford coming in for criticism after a nervy home debut. Another defeat here would not only upset the odds, but also make recent history as City last lost two of their first three league games in the 2004/05 season. Pep Guardiola will be determined to avoid that fate, but he is yet to win a Premier League clash against Fabian Hürzeler (D1, L1).
