Whilst in the other Serie C play-off semi-final (between Ascoli and Catania) the finalist seems all but certain (the Marche side won the first leg 4-0), in the tie between Union Brescia and Salernitana everything is still up in the air. The draw in the first leg, in fact, keeps the qualification race wide open, not least because at this stage neither side has an advantage.
Certainly, Brescia have the advantage of being able to play the decisive match at home, in front of their eager and supportive crowd, a situation that can certainly make the difference (even if Salernitana will also be able to count on a large group of supporters travelling with them). Serse Cosmi has called on his players to put in a decidedly more courageous performance, whilst Corini, for his part, has urged calm ahead of the second leg.
