Luxembourg – Italy (Predictions Today) Preview

Luxembourg – Italy Prediction & Tips

By defeating Malta 3-0 in their last match, Luxembourg secured their place in UEFA Nations League League C with a convincing 5-0 aggregate victory. These results not only ensured their survival but also gave head coach Jeff Strasser two consecutive wins, ending a worrying nine-game winless streak (1 draw, 8 losses). Having failed to score in seven of their last ten matches, it is clear what the Red Lions’ biggest problem is. Furthermore, playing at home hasn’t been much help either, as Luxembourg has failed to score in four of their last six home matches since their surprise 1-0 friendly win over Sweden in March 2025.

After missing out on a third consecutive World Cup, Italy named Silvio Baldini as interim head coach for the two June friendlies, and the 67-year-old made it clear that he would only call up players from the country’s U-21 squad. Despite winning seven of their last nine matches (D2) and keeping a clean sheet in five of them, the Azzurri are in the midst of a crisis, so their young players will be eager to prove themselves before the arrival of the new permanent head coach. As a result, another strong start can be expected here, as Italy has been leading at halftime in four of their last six matches (at halftime: D2).
