Feyenoord and Celtic desperately need a win to revive their respective UEFA Europa League (UEL) campaigns, as both face the threat of elimination from the group stage.
Feyenoord sit one point behind Celtic in the standings, having won just one of their four games in this phase so far (D3). They have also lost their last two Eredivisie matches and face the prospect of four consecutive defeats in all competitions for the first time since January 2016. This run has undoubtedly increased the pressure on coach Robin van Persie, although he can find motivation in the Dutch giants’ record of five wins in their last seven European home games (D2), including victories over Bayern Munich and AC Milan in last season’s UEFA Champions League (UCL).
