Celta had an outstanding last season and finished seventh in the table. Vigo qualified for the UEFA Europa League and are assured of a place in the group stage, as five Spanish teams play in the Champions League. During the summer, the team played seven friendly warm-up matches. The results were very irregular: three wins and four defeats.
