Utrecht vs Heracles Prediction & Tips
This weekend also marks the start of the new Eredivisie season for FC Utrecht and Heracles Almelo. For FC Utrecht, however, it is not the first official match of the season. The Utrecht side have already played three European matches and will be back in the third round of Europa League qualification next Thursday.
For Heracles Almelo, though, this match is the first official match of the season. The Almelo side, which finished 14th in the Eredivisie last season, had a nice practice series, but never before played against an opponent of Utrecht’s calibre.
That there is a gap between the two teams is clear from the last 10 meetings. Of those encounters, Utrecht won six, drew just once and Heracles logically managed to win the remaining three. However, Heracles’ last win could provide some extra motivation for the Utrecht side. Indeed, Heracles’ last victory over Utrecht was in February this year in the quarter-finals of the KNVB Beker, which then saw them walk off the pitch 2-0.
