Rayo Vallecano vs Osasuna Prediction & Tips
The European dream is moving away for Rayo Vallecano, defeated 2-0 on their visit to Celta de Vigo and who have added 1/12 points in 2022. The Vallecano squad has not scored in three of their last four LaLiga Santander games (LL) and can chain three defeats without scoring in the top flight for the first time since April-May 2003.
The redheads need to recover the good line of results they recorded between the end of the international break in November and Christmas (G3, E1, P1). In that period, Rayo had good starts to the game, and four of the six goals they scored in their three wins came in the first 30 minutes.
Osasuna moves to the Vallecano fort linking two days with a clean sheet (2-0 vs Granada away, 0-0 vs Sevilla at home). The rojillos, just two points behind Rayo, can string together three league games without conceding goals for the first time since last spring. Their last visit to Vallecas ended with a resounding 3-0 win (Second Division, September 2017).

Players to watch: Sergi Guardiola has opened the scoring in the opening 20 minutes of each of the last two LL games Rayo have won at home by two or more goals difference. Similarly, in each of Osasuna’s two away league wins achieved by a margin of at least two goals, David García has scored the first goal.
Highlights: In four of the last six LL games that Rayo have lost without scoring at their stadium, the red-and-red team has come into half-time with the score against them.
