Werder Bremen vs Heidenheim Prediction & Tips
Only current league leaders Bayer Leverkusen have avoided defeat in the Bundesliga for longer than these two mid-table teams, Werder Bremen and Heidenheim, neither of whom have lost a league game since early December. Bremen (G4, E3) scored in two minutes to beat Mainz last time out, although coach Ole Werner admitted his team had “a bit of luck” along the way after their opponents fired 20 shots on goal without success.
Still, the River Islanders should be full of confidence after making it three top-flight wins in a row for the first time since March 2019. One of those previous meetings came in 2020 as part of a two-legged relegation playoff, in which Heidenheim missed out on promotion to the top flight. Players to watch: Bremen striker Marvin Ducksch scored the winning goal against Mainz, making it the fourth time this season that he has scored within the first ten minutes of a match. Heidenheim could turn to Eren Dinkçi, currently on loan from Bremen, to try to solve their away problems, as five of his seven scoring appearances this season have been away games.
