Soccer betting in 2021/2022 – How to make more winning bets?

The world of soccer (or as the rest of the world calls it – football) is very unique and diverse. One of the major points of interest for a lot of fans is the betting scene. They place bets for and against the clubs they like in expectation of not only watching a good game but also earning some cash on the side. But even if you find the best place to bet (by reading local guides like lazybuguru.lt), it does not guarantee winning bets. We’ll give you some tips on better soccer betting in 2021/2022.

We’re still learning the new formats of international EURO play

A few years back, the Nations League was introduced by UEFA. Although fans and the players themselves are not super appreciative of the new format, it seems that it’s here to stay. However, the value and context of this championship are still hard to fathom. Hence, it’s hard to determine which teams are going to come out ready for battle and which ones will have 2nd tier rosters or players just playing at 70% and waiting to get back to their clubs.

So, betting on international matchups has become a bit more unique with a lot of predictable elements now becoming less predictable.

More dominating performances

Back in the 1990s, the UEFA Champions League final was a huge sensation. AC Milan demolished Barcelona 4-0. Such outrageously overpowering performances were very uncommon on the biggest stage. However, the football of today has many examples of two top-tier teams facing one another, where the result is just super lob-sided.

You have the Real Madrid el Classico fiascos 5-0 and 5-1 in 2010 and 2018 respectively. There’s the infamous 7-0 crushing of Barca, courtesy of Bayern Munich and, of course, Germany vs Brazil in the 2014 FIFA World Cup…

Even when two teams, looking pretty even on paper, match up, you can’t predict the outcome to always be tame and the team that scores the first goal to be doing everything to hold on to that lead. Even the top tier teams can have very bad games and thus, high-scoring matches are more and more common.

Carefully look at coaching changes and the ultimate desire to win

Especially in top-tier football, you were to expect certain results from teams. The changes and the desire to win from the fans and the ownership were much more manageable. Teams like West Ham, Lazio, Sevilla, even Tottenham, etc. were solid enough clubs for the high-midfield positions but weren’t sacking managers left and right just to go for the title and highest places.

Probably with more and more money coming into football, there’s more and more demand for great results. And, if the team fails to realize them by the first 10-15 games, the manager is at risk of being sacked. After a new one is hired, a few months of acclimatization is needed and thus, some clubs just bury their slightly unsuccessful campaigns right from the get-go. What we mean is that you can’t keep betting on a team that’s undergoing changes. And there is a lot of them!
