Brentford – Norwich (Pick, Prediction, Preview) Preview

Brentford vs Norwich Prediction & Tips

With Brentford looking to bounce back after three consecutive Premier League (PL) losses, they may consider their honeymoon period after their promotion more than over. This radical change could be alarming, although those led by Thomas Frank have not had it easy after facing three of the teams that finished the previous season in the top five in the same number of games at home.

That said, the “Bees” will be looking to benefit from a strong start in this clash, as they have scored in the first 30 minutes in the previous two league games at home in which they avoided defeat. Although Brentford managed just one point during the two meetings between the two teams last season (E1, P1), you can see this meeting as a good opportunity to recover against a Norwich City that has not registered wins in PL action on rival soil since November 2019.
Norwich have earned just two points out of the top 30 in dispute, and this meager record makes them only the fourth team in PL to score fewer than three points in their first ten games. The other three ended up declining, while the last two finished last in the standings.

Looking long term, Norwich need that first win soon if they want to at least avoid becoming the third PL team in history to be relegated (mathematically) before the start of April. However, getting this first win does not seem likely in this match, since the “Canaries” streak of 17 PL matches played away from home without a win (E3, P14) contains 13 matches in which they did not score, and precisely zero points recovered in 11 games in which he left at a disadvantage at halftime.
Players to watch: Having scored the winning goal for Brentford in their last league win, and then scoring a late goal to tie Liverpool, Yoane Wissa has been directly responsible for three of the last four points scored by the “Bees”. Andrew Omobamidele will have to do a good job scoring him, although the Norwich defender has also known how to contribute on offense after scoring a goal that meant the momentary draw against Leeds last weekend (P 1-2), in a period of five minutes in which three goals were registered.
Highlight: Norwich have conceded an average of 2.0 goals per game after the 60th minute during their four road losses this season.
