Zimbabwe have established themselves as a solid mid-table team in African football. The ‘Warriors’ managed to qualify for the next Africa Cup of Nations, beating Kenya and Namibia. However, with only four points, Zimbabwe are at the bottom of their group in the World Cup qualifiers and no longer have a chance of advancing to the finals.
Last Friday, Zimbabwe lost 1-2 away to Benin, a result that all but buried their World Cup hopes. Before that, they drew with Nigeria (1-1) and Benin (2-2).
Rwanda, like Zimbabwe, have never achieved much success in their history. The ‘Wasps’ failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations, scoring 8 points in their qualifying group. Benin had the same number of points, but edged out Rwanda on a tie-breaker.
