Wolfsburg can still finish 10th in the Bundesliga, although it is a difficult task as they need to beat three teams: Borussia Monchengladbach, Bochum and Eintracht Frankfurt. After topping the table in the opening weeks of the season, it has ultimately been a disappointing campaign for Wolfsburg, but they head into this clash preceded by a three-game unbeaten run (G2, E1) in the league, scoring seven goals in that span — all before halftime.
Consecutive clean sheet home wins in the league, while scoring more than four goals each time, should have fans expectant despite the fact that this will be their worst place in the Bundesliga table since 2017/18.
