USA vs Morocco Prediction & Tips

Both qualifiers for the next World Cup to be played in the fall in Qatar, the United States of America and Morocco will face each other for the fourth time in their history and will do so once again in a friendly. It has been since as far back as May 23, 2006, that the two sides have not faced each other, and on that occasion, played at the Nashville Coliseum, it was the Moroccans who prevailed with a goal in the 90th minute by Mohamed Madihi. Coach Gregg Berhalter’s United States, who will be appearing at the World Cup for the 10th time, played their last game in World Cup qualifying last March losing to Costa Rica 2-0. In contrast, the Morocco of Bosnian globetrotting coach Vahid Halilhodzic, who will be making his fifth World Cup appearance in Qatar, completed their qualification run by beating the Democratic Republic of Congo 4-1 at home.

Morocco has always beaten the United States in the previous three friendlies: 3-1 in 1992, 2-1 in 1999 and 1-0 in 2006, the latter the only one played in America.

The United States has won its last 7 home games among all competitions and is undefeated at home for 22 games.

The United States has conceded goals in just 2 of its last 7 games played at home among all competitions.

In the last 5 games among all competitions, Morocco has always scored and conceded at least 1 goal.

Interesting challenge between two possible “outsiders” at the next World Cup. The “States” have never beaten Morocco in their three previous matches but will have the field factor on their side. Morocco has scored and conceded at least one goal in its last 5 international appearances and the Goal could repeat itself for the third of the four direct confrontations.
