Sporting CP – Bodo/Glimt (Predictions Today) Preview

Sporting CP vs Bodo/Glimt Prediction & Tips

This is the third time in the last five seasons that Sporting has entered the second leg of a UCL knockout tie needing to overcome a deficit of at least three goals. A six-game winless streak in the knockout stages of major European competitions (W3, D3) suggests this could be a third consecutive failure to overturn such a deficit. However, this time, Sporting can rely on its impressive home form as it attempts to turn a 3+ goal deficit into a UEFA competition qualification for the first time since the 1963/64 season. Sporting has recorded four wins out of four at home in the group stage, two of them by a three-goal margin, and their current streak of 15 consecutive home wins across all competitions includes a victory against reigning champions PSG.

Bodø/Glimt has already made history in its first appearance in the UCL group stage and could add much more if it manages to hold onto its lead. Last season’s UEFA Europa League (UEL) semifinalist aims to become the first Norwegian club in nearly 30 years to reach the quarterfinals of UEFA’s elite competition and has every chance of doing so, having won five consecutive UCL matches. A sixth win would tie the all-time record for the longest UCL winning streak by a club outside the top five European leagues, and the three consecutive away wins in 2026 show that playing on the road shouldn’t be a major obstacle.
