Southampton vs Brighton Prediction & Tips
At the beginning of February, Southampton finally got their second win of the season, beating Ipswich away from home (2-1). However, that success was short-lived, as the following matchday Ivan Juric’s side lost to Bournemouth at home (1-3).
Southampton remain bottom of the table and are 10 points adrift of the drop zone. They also continue to be the worst defensive side in the league with 57 goals conceded so far. They have lost 12 of their last 15 Premier League games (1 win, 2 draws).
On the other hand, Fabian Hürzeler’s side managed to bounce back from the humiliating defeat against Nottingham Forest (0-7) with a surprising home win over Chelsea (3-0). Prior to that, Brighton also lost to Everton (0-1), but had not previously suffered back-to-back league defeats.
Brighton are currently in mid-table, six points off the European qualification places. In their last five away games, the Seagulls have not lost, with two wins in that stretch. However, their last away trip ended in a crushing defeat to Nottingham Forest.
