Rapid Vienna has somehow become hostage to historical realities. It was really very strong when the European competitions had not yet started, in the interwar period. Djurgården can rightly be considered one of the great historical figures of Swedish football. It has managed to collect a dozen league titles and has won the Swedish Cup half a dozen times. But the last trophies were won half a decade ago, in 2019. In addition, in both 2023 and 2024 they finished 4th in the Allsvenskan.
In the Conference League, the Scandinavians started in July, and after beating three opponents, the club advanced to the main round. There they managed four wins and thirteen points. Finally, they started the playoffs from the round of 16, already in March. There they managed to get past ‘Paphos’.
