Shamrock Rovers have enjoyed numerous successes domestically this season, but now their future in the UEFA Conference League hangs in the balance as Shakhtar Donetsk arrive in Dublin in fine form and with their sights set on reaching the last 16.
Shamrock Rovers picked up their first point in the Conference League with a 1-1 draw against AEK Athens on matchday three, but still face an uphill battle to reach the knockout stages. The Hoops have lost just one of their last four matches (W2, D1), but have not played since lifting the FAI Cup over two weeks ago. They will need to bounce back to improve their home form, having lost three of their last four games at Tallaght Stadium (W1). Stephen Bradley’s side lost their last European home game 2-0 to Celje, but started this season by keeping three consecutive clean sheets at home in the Conference League qualifying phase (W1, D2).
