Sassuolo’s goalless draw with Fiorentina last Sunday has extended an encouraging run in which they have lost just once in their last five matches (W2, D2). It is unlikely that their late resurgence will see them climb much further up the table; however, finishing the season strongly remains a priority for Fabio Grosso. His side are certainly delivering on that front, having picked up a respectable 23 points since matchday 22 – a tally surpassed by just four teams. Their form at the Mapei Stadium has been particularly impressive, with four wins in their last five home games (L1). Their struggles in front of goal have not helped their cause, as the Rossoneri have failed to score in five of their last nine league matches – having failed to find the net just once in the previous 25! Massimiliano Allegri’s men may find solace in their away form, as they remain unbeaten on the road against teams sitting ninth or lower in the table going into this matchday (W8, D2), a record they will look to defend here.
