The Romanian national team go into their second match of the June window in the qualifiers looking to redeem themselves after the recent 1-2 defeat to Austria. After three rounds, Romania are second in the group with three points: they started with a home defeat to Bosnia, then comfortably beat San Marino 5-1, but failed to pick up points in Vienna.
Unlike Romania, the Cyprus team used the first part of the June window not for official matches, but for a friendly: the team played a match against Bulgaria, which ended in a pulsating 2-2 draw.
