It will have the opportunity to do so this week by winning a competition it has won for the last three years. Currently in second place in Ligue 1, Luis Enrique’s team is the clear favourite going into this match.
OM clearly did not go into this Champions Trophy match brimming with confidence. In its first match of 2026, the Marseille club suffered a surprise defeat to FC Nantes at the Stade Vélodrome, finishing with two players sent off (0-2). Although Roberto De Zerbi’s men are still in third place in Ligue 1, they are now only two points ahead of Stade Rennais (sixth).
