PSG vs Arsenal Prediction & Tips
Paris Saint-Germain arrive with a comfortable lead after their narrow victory in London. Thanks to an early goal from Ousmane Dembélé, Luis Enrique’s side firmly controlled the tempo of the game, not allowing Arsenal to create any real dangerous chances, and also creating several opportunities to extend the lead.
With the league title already secured, the Parisians were allowed to rotate their squad ahead of the decisive game. In the away match against Strasbourg, the French champions fielded a semi-supplementary line-up, without prioritising the result. The result was a 2-1 home win, a result that kept Liam Rosenior’s side in the Champions League race until the final matchday.
Arsenal go into the second leg in Paris on the back of a shock defeat in the Premier League. At home, the Gunners were leading but ended up losing 1-2 to Bournemouth. Interestingly, both goals conceded came from set pieces – a traditionally strong facet for Mikel Arteta’s side.
In the wake of that defeat, Arsenal were thrust firmly into the race for second place. As well as Southampton on the final day, they still face Liverpool and Newcastle, and the gap to Manchester City, who are on a roll, is just three points.
