In fact, Peru earned second place in Group B thanks to the seven points scored in the four games played: only one defeat, albeit heavy (4-0), but against Brazil.
For the rest, the Peruvians won surprisingly against Colombia (1-2 the final result) and a little less surprisingly against Venezuela (0-1 in the last exit), drawing comeback against Ecuador (from 2- 0 to 2-2).
On the other hand, Paraguay also obtained a surprise victory (0-2 against Chile) and a more “obvious” victory against Bolivia (3-1). Six points that earned him the third position behind Argentina and Uruguay.
In the two matches against Albiceleste and Celeste, however, the Paraguayans came out with their heads very high: in both games, against opponents on the most popular paper, they lost with the minimum difference (1-0).
