Panathinaikos vs G.A. Eagles Prediction & Tips
The pitch at the Olympic Stadium of Athens will be the stage for the clash between Panathinaikos and Go Ahead Eagles next Thursday in the second round of the Europa League group stage. Following the departure of Portuguese coach Rui Vitória, interim coach Christos Kontis has done a good job in managing Panathinaikos, who drew the derby with Olympiakos (1-1) under the transitional coach – letting victory slip away in injury time – thrashed Young Boys away (4-1) and beat Panetolikos (2-1) in the last round of the Greek Super League.
Go Ahead Eagles are not in good form, having won only twice in nine official matches in the 25/26 season. Their last win was about a week and a half ago, in the penultimate round of the Eredivisie – away to Zwolle (2-0) – before getting off to a bad start in the Europa League group stage against Romanian side FSCB (0-1) at home. On their return to the national championship, Melvin Boel’s team left something to be desired last Sunday, losing 2-4 away to Telstar, where they spent most of the time behind on the scoreboard.
