Chelsea are leading the Premier League table and are doing it with great conviction and determination. Newcastle, on the other hand, are penultimate in the league table and have been struggling since the start of the season. The Blues are pressed by Liverpool and Manchester City, at the top which they chase respectively only one and two points behind. There are already three lengths to recover for Newcastle with respect to the safety zone, but the change of ownership has not given the hoped-for impetus and the Magpeis must absolutely start moving the standings. After the defeat at home to Manchester City (0-1 in favor of Pep Guardiola’s boys), Tuchel’s men have struck a streak of four consecutive Premiership victories.
And in three of these four games, the Blues have scored at least three goals (three at Southampton, four at Malmoe and even seven in their last outing against Norwich).
These results are even more impressive when you consider the absences of Chelsea, who have to do without injury to both Lukaku and his replacement Timo Werner.
Newcastle are still on the hunt for their first league victory: after nine rounds played, in fact, the Magpies have only four draws (five defeats complete a score that is anything but encouraging).
