Marseille vs Montpellier Prediction & Tips

The international break has just ended. From now on, the Ligue 1 is back! And for the first match of this 29th day, we will have the right to a meeting between Olympique de Marseille and Montpellier HSC. This match will be held this Friday at 9 pm, at the Stade Vélodrome. The Phocaean club is in full confidence and remains well installed at the 2nd place of the French championship. However, they will have to play their best in front of their fans! Indeed, Montpellier HSC is shining since the return of Michel Der Zakarian on his bench. They have had a string of good results and have just climbed to the 11th place in the ranking.

After a complicated period, where they lost to PSG (0-3) and were knocked out by FC Annecy in the French Cup, OM has been able to raise their head. It took 7 points in its last 3 games. Just before the international break, the Phocaean club made a strong impression. It managed to win at the Stade de Reims (1-2), which had been unbeaten for many weeks. This allowed Igor Tudor’s team to consolidate its 2nd place in Ligue 1. However, they are only three points ahead of their closest rivals, RC Lens. They will therefore be looking to continue their winning streak and take the lead. Montpellier HSC, on the other hand, has just moved up to 11th place in Ligue 1. Since the return of Michel Der Zakarian on the bench, the club is undefeated. It remains on 6 days without a single defeat (5 wins and 1 draw). Why not hope for a feat at the Stade Velodrome?

OM will have to deal with some absentees for the return of Ligue 1. Leonardo Balerdi is suspended, while Amine Harit is still injured. Sead Kolasinac also remains very uncertain. Igor Tudor will however have other arguments in his squad. One thinks in particular of Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean striker was even able to score with his selection during this international break. He continues his beautiful series, while he had scored 3 goals in the last 2 days of Ligue 1. In the ranks of Montpellier HSC, there will also be some absentees. Dimitry Bertaud, Maxime Estève, Faitout Maouassa, Enzo Tchato, Léo Leroy and Beni Makouana will not be available. Elye Wahi will however be very expected, as he scored 4 goals in the last 3 games of Ligue 1. He will be accompanied by Téji Savanier, who is still as important in the midfield.
