Lyon vs Angers Prediction & Tips
There is no more important closing game of the campaign than this one for Lyon, as they could end the day assured of qualification for any of the three tiers of European competition, or they could be out of it all should they fail to win. A win over Angers would give them the chance to draw level on points and potentially move above any of Nice, Lille or Strasbourg, who occupy the European places, on goal difference if any of that trio lose their game on this final matchday.
Lyon could be all but assured of a second successive European campaign had they not lost their previous two games, although a return home could boost them, having won five of their last seven in all competitions (E1, P1). That run came despite keeping just one clean sheet in that period, while they were behind six times in the seven matches.
Opposing them will be Angers, who go into the final day of the season with their relegation status assured for next season after winning three of their last five league games (P2), the same number of wins accumulated in their previous 12 matches in the competition. After winning their last two such matches, another win would see them equal Angers’ best run of consecutive league victories this season, although even that would not be enough to finish the campaign above thirteenth place.
