Liverpool – Leeds (Pick, Prediction, Preview)

Liverpool takes it Tuesday night at home against Leeds United in the quarterfinals of the League Cup. An excellent opportunity to reach the semi-finals and who will want to not be Klopp.

The League Cup is the least prestigious tournament in England, but that does not like Klopp to motivate his team for this tournament. The German coach likes knockout tournaments and if there is a price attached to it, he does it. The League Cup is a prize, as the FA Cup and the Premier League. And as Liverpool does not play European competitions, it has plenty of time and opportunities to set his sights on the two English cups.
Liverpool played last Saturday’s home match against Sunderland. That match was won 2-0, but that was not very easy. Liverpool made clear late in the second half because of the 1-0 scoring Origi that looked suspiciously like a failed cross. Klopp especially gave Sunderland the blame because he gave to never having seen such a defensive team. As he has in itself is a point, but if Liverpool being you have to play football, of course, through it and did not quite Liverpool. Klopp was not satisfied with the public and railed against their own fans. He found that they got little support Liverpool and tried to whip up the crowd. That worked, and maybe that is exactly what the deciding factor.
It at least gives that Klopp not underestimate the influence of the fans, and such a coach is exactly what Liverpool needs now. Especially now that players like Coutinho, Sturridge, Lallana and Firmino is injured and Klopp therefore must rely on a number of second choices. Klopp could abandon his faith and will give a lot of young players minutes. So he left last weekend raids the seventeen year old Ben Woodburn and he could easily be in the base, as players like Ejaria, Grujic, Stewart and Alexander Arnold.
Probable lineup Liverpool:
Mignolet, Alexander Arnold, Klavan, Jovren, Moreno, Grujic, Stewart, Luke, Woodburn, Ejaria, Origi
Injured players:
-Danny Ings
-Philippe Coutinho
-Adam Lallana
-Daniel Sturridge
-Mamadou Sakho
Doubtful cases:
-Sheyi Ojo
-Joseph Gomez

The season is still quite young, but Leeds United may finally place again this year for the playoffs. Leeds will soon return to the Premier League and this is a little miracle needed but the fallen superpower is pretty good on the road. Some good results were brought Leeds to the play-off places recently achieved, and the focus will definitely be on the Championship. The League Cup has much less priority.
Souleymane Doukara, striker from Leeds United last weekend and accurately, already indicated that his team absolutely the match against Aston Villa to keep in mind next weekend. He’s really looking forward to the match at Anfield, but said that once in the Championship has the highest priority. According to him, everyone is already focused on the match with Aston Villa because it’s going to be a difficult match. Perhaps even more difficult than the match against Liverpool, because there is more pressure on them.
The Senegalese had last weekend accurately in the match won 2-1 against Rotherham, a match in which Leeds did not make much impression and just barely managed to pull three points on the line. Still, it’s a win again and that is already the fourth victory in the last five league games for Leeds, including a handsome victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers (0-1) and Norwich City (2-3).
Probable lineup Leeds United:
Green, Ayling, Bartley, Jansson, Taylor, Phillips, O’Kane, Sacko, Roofe, Dallas, Wood
Injured players:
-Liam Bridcutt
-Pablo Hernandez

Prediction: Over 2.5 goals
Odds: 1,40
