Linfield vs Zalgiris Prediction & Tips

Zlagiris, first in the standings in Lithuania, challenge for the return of the first qualifying round to the groups of the next Champions League, the Northern Irishmen of Linfield. The first game ended 3-1 for the Lithuanians who went ahead in the first half with goals from Videmont and Kis. Linfield tried to react with Manzinga but Johns’ own goal arrived in the 68th minute and definitively wiped out the Belfast team’s hopes of a comeback, and perhaps a qualification. Excellent period for Zalgiris who have not lost since 8 May and before the European match drew 0-0 with Riterai and overwhelmed 2-0, and with a double 3-0 respectively Nevezi Kedainiani Dziigas Telsiai and Dainava Alytus.

Zalgiris have won nine of their last eleven games

In the last six games, the Lithuanians have conceded only one goal

In the first leg the match ended 3-1 for Zalgiris who put a serious risk on the passage of the round

Atomic attack for Zalgiris who scored 40 goals in twenty seasonal matches between the league and the Champions League

Our prediction for the match between Linfield and Zalgiris is for “2”. The Lithuanians have shown in the first leg that they have much more quality, the 3-1 final is the result of a first half ended 2-0 with practice already put on the scoresheet positively with forty-five minutes early. The Lithuanians not only appear to be stronger in terms of quality, but they also have the enormous advantage of being at the height of the season. In fact, in Lithuania the championship is played mainly in summer and then stops in winter due to very low temperatures. The legs therefore go to a thousand while those of the Northern Irish are still very packed. For Linfield, the season ended in May with the fourth national title in a row, the fifty-fifth in history, and therefore the physical preparation cannot be the best. In practice, the players took to the field for the Champions League preliminary a few days before the end of the holidays. Zalgiris will win therefore, at least in our opinion, and the Lithuanians will be able to continue to cherish the dream of accessing the groups of the next Champions League even if the next opponent will certainly not be easy. In all likelihood, in fact, the challenge will be with the Hungarians of Ferencvaros who already reached the final phase of the tournament last year and were then included, and eliminated, in the iron group with Barcelona and Juventus.
