This is one of the big games of matchday 23 in Ligue 1. Two contenders for the top four are set to clash, with LOSC and AS Monaco. The match takes place this Saturday at 5pm at Stade Pierre-Mauroy. Going into the matchday, LOSC are in 5th place in the table. However, they are far from having said their last word in the race to qualify for the Champions League. Les Dogues are just 2 points off the top 4.
And it is AS Monaco who are in 4th place in the French championship. The club from the principality has just played its second leg of the Champions League play-off in midweek. The Monegasque team was eliminated by SL Benfica. A few days later, Adi Hütter’s men will be looking to bounce back in Ligue 1. The task will not be so simple, however, against one of the biggest names in the French league.
Unlike their next opponents, AS Monaco will not see out the Champions League Round of 16. The principality’s club were knocked out by SL Benfica in the play-offs (aggregate score: 3-4). Already eliminated from the French Cup, Monaco now have only Ligue 1 to play for at the end of the season.
Adi Hütter’s men have managed to bounce back in the league after losing 4-1 to PSG. Last weekend, they easily beat FC Nantes, taking advantage of Nicolas Cozza’s early dismissal (7-1). AS Monaco now want to consolidate their 4th position in the table.
