Lazio vs Verona Prediction & Tips
With the club under a transfer ban, it was not too surprising to see Lazio outplayed and losing 0-2 to Como on the opening weekend. After missing out on European competition on the final day of last season, manager Maurizio Sarri is eager to break the club’s seemingly negative streak. Just one win in their last 12 league games at home does not inspire much confidence (D8, L3), a statistic made even more striking considering that prior to that run they had won ten of their previous 12 home games (D2).
Expectations are much lower for Hellas Verona, who have finished in the bottom half of the table in each of the previous three seasons. The ‘Mastiffs’ started the campaign quietly with a 1-1 draw against Udinese, although that result extended their unbeaten league run to four games (W1, D3). Verona will be looking for their first league win of the season soon, as only in two of their six campaigns in the top flight since promotion have they failed to win any of their first two Serie A games.
