But, perhaps, it was precisely this that piqued the interest of Reynolds and McElhenney. Somehow, Hollywood stars took an interest in the Welsh. This gave a boost, and what a boost it was: they got promoted to League One in 2024.
This is far from the ceiling of their ambitions. The newcomer clearly intends to pass this ‘transit’ level, first time round. It can’t be said that everything is straightforward, but overall they have only fallen noticeably behind ‘Birmingham’, and the fight for the final second place is in full swing. In February, they only failed to beat ‘Leyton Orient’. With ‘Bolton’ there was only a goalless draw at home.
