Hamrun vs Maccabi Tel Aviv Prediction & Tips
The Maltese club Hamrun has not performed well in its recent official competitions, with four defeats in its last five matches. After losing in the FA Trophy semi-final against Hibernians (1-2) on 14 May, Hamrun lost three of its last four European matches in the Champions League qualifying rounds, losing to Zalgiris (2-0) and then to Dynamo Kiev (0-3 and 3-0) in its two-legged tie on 22 and 29 July.
Maccabi Tel Aviv suffered a major disappointment when they were knocked out of the Champions League qualifiers following their surprise defeat in the quarter-finals against Cypriot club Pafos (1-1 and 0-1). The Israeli club had nevertheless prepared well for this European encounter with a victory in a friendly match against H. Ironi Rishon (2-1) on 16 July. As the 2025 Israeli champions, Maccabi Tel Aviv need to qualify for the group stage of the next Europa League in order to be competitive in their domestic league as well.
