Girona has gotten off to a very poor start in the new LaLiga season. Already in the final stretch of last season, the team showed weaknesses and finished in 16th place after a fantastic 2023/24 season, in which it managed to qualify for the Champions League. Now, the decline is evident. So far this season, the Catalans have yet to taste victory. Three defeats at the start, then a draw, another defeat and a run of two consecutive draws.
Valencia also spent part of last season at the bottom of the table, but managed to climb out of the pit and finished in 12th place. In the current championship, the results have been uneven, although better than those of Girona. Los Che have won two games, drawn two and lost three. They currently have eight points and are 12th in the standings. Their goal difference is negative: 9 for and 12 against. The gap between them and both the European places and the relegation zone is the same, so Valencia still have a battle ahead of them to improve their position and can try to climb the table.
