Genk vs Charleroi Prediction & Tips
In the current campaign, Thorsten Fink’s side has been inconsistent: after six games, Genk has only two wins, two draws and two defeats. As a result, the team from the city of the same name is languishing in tenth place in the table. In its last match, Genk managed to avoid defeat in the final minutes, so it goes into the game against Charleroi in relatively positive spirits.
Charleroi had a fairly discreet season last year, finishing in tenth place in the championship, although it did earn the right to compete in European competitions, where Rik De Mil’s team was eliminated in the second qualifying round by Sweden’s Hammarby.
The start of the new Belgian league season is proving more favourable for Charleroi than for Genk. The team has accumulated nine points and is in seventh place. In recent matches, the “Zebras” have achieved two consecutive victories: 3-1 against Dender and 3-2 against Cercle Brugge.
