Fluminense made a solid start to their Club World Cup campaign with a 0-0 draw against Borussia Dortmund, their main rivals for a place in the next round. Although there were no goals, the team showed organised play and kept their chances of progressing in the tournament intact.
The Brazilian club has been in great form and has now gone seven consecutive matches without defeat. In the national championship, after 11 rounds, they are in sixth place and remain firmly in contention for the top places. In the Copa do Brasil, Fluminense are still in the running and have already qualified for the Round of 16, where they will face Internacional.
Ulsan return to the Club World Cup for the first time since 2020. In that edition, the team failed to reach the semi-finals: they lost in the quarter-finals to Tigres of Mexico and then lost the match for fifth place to Al-Duhail of Qatar 1-3.

The team is not in the best of form: in their last five matches in all competitions, they have only one win, two draws and two defeats. They have now gone three consecutive matches without a win.
