FC Ballkani – Slavia Prague (Pick, Prediction, Preview) Preview

FC Ballkani vs Slavia Prague Prediction & Tips

With only three points separating the top two in UEFA Europa Europa Conference League (UECL) Group G from the bottom two, both fourth-placed Ballkani and third-placed Slavia Prague need a win to get into the fight to advance out of the group stage. If the other Group G match between Sivasspor and Cluj ends in a draw, whichever side loses in this match will be eliminated, so Kosovo champions Ballkani will be hoping for a positive result to extend their first appearance in European competition into the new year.
Ballkani will be on course for their second consecutive title at home level if they can win their remaining games, however, they have struggled on the European stage. Their only win to date was an entertaining 4-3 comeback win at Sivasspor, and they have yet to win on home soil despite having the lead at halftime in their two home games in this group stage (E1, P1).
Since a 2-0 loss to Cluj left Slavia Prague level on four points with Ballkani, they have had time to reassert their authority at home. Their fans may feel they have the upper hand in the city after back-to-back wins over Dukla Prague, and arch-rivals Sparta Prague, although a seven-hour scoreless streak away from home before their win over second-division Dukla remains a concern.
Anything less than victory could be seen as a failure for Slavia, who have reached at least the quarterfinals in three of their last European campaigns. With just two wins in 13 away matches at continental level since the start of last season (E4, P7), it suggests that victory is not assured for Sparta despite having the label of heavy favorites ahead of their first trip to Pristina.
Key battle: Ballkani defender Armend Thaqi records four goal contributions in his last four European appearances (two goals, two assists), but his main task will be to stop Slavia striker Peter Olayinka, who scored in first and second half stoppages in their recent matches against their city rivals.
Key stat: No team in the eight UECL groups has seen more goals in their first four games at this stage than the 17 that have been scored in Ballkani’s matches (an average of 4.25).
