Espanyol vs Atl. Madrid Prediction & Tips
Last season, Espanyol almost miraculously avoided relegation from LaLiga. Manolo González’s side got off to a sluggish start, but at the beginning of 2025 they put together an excellent run of results that took them away from the red zone. By the end of the campaign, however, the Catalans had lost six games in a row, and only a win against Las Palmas on the final day of the season ensured their relegation.
Atletico, for their part, had a very inconsistent last season. Diego Simeone’s side tried to keep pace with Real Madrid and Barcelona, but by early April it was clear that third place was their ceiling. In the summer, Atletico took part in the Club World Cup, where they were surprisingly eliminated in the group stage, and then lost out to PSG and Botafogo in the playoffs.
