Cordoba vs Levante Prediction & Tips
With the exception of a ‘golden’ period in the 60s of the last century (plus 1971/1972), Cordoba has only once again managed to be promoted to La Liga level. It was exactly ten years ago, in the 2014/2015 season. But not only did they fail to stay there, but soon they were playing in Spain’s third and even fourth league. And only last spring, and not directly, but through the playoffs, they managed to get the right to return at least to the second division.
There, the newly promoted team is receiving good reviews. They do not perform miracles on the pitch, but the main thing is that they manage not to lose more than they win, and have already accumulated enough points to stay in the division. Moreover, they finally beat ‘Malaga’ on the last matchday.
Levante are currently rated much higher than their opponents. At least in the last two decades, they have spent most of their time in La Liga. They have even had experience of European competition, albeit only once, reaching the last 16 of the Europa League 2012/2013. But, after being relegated again from the Primera Division in 2022, they almost came back (third place and failure in the playoffs) and then, last spring, they were only eighth.
Now they have managed to regain positions. But there is still the threat of a repeat of last season, missing out on direct promotion to La Liga, for which they need to occupy one of the top two places. They lost unfortunately against ‘Almeria’ after a series of victories. But then they secured a solid 3-1 win against ‘Racing Santander’.
