Cordoba has been rarely recalling their presence in recent years. Yes, in 2014 they even managed to get promoted to the First Division for the first time since the 70s of the last century.
But, firstly, they were immediately relegated, and also from the last place. Secondly, after that, they were relegated to the second and even, in the 2021/2022 season, to the third division of the country. Only last spring they managed to come back, and they did it through the playoffs, as second in their group.
Cadiz closed last year one of the best chapters in their modest history. At least they managed, after returning to La Liga after a fifteen-year hiatus, to stay there for four consecutive seasons, even repeating their best position in the First Division: twelfth place. Last spring, however, they were relegated, but from the ‘borderline’ eighteenth position, and optimists wanted to believe that they could return ‘immediately’.
