Club Brugge KV vs Monaco Prediction & Tips
Bruges relinquished the league title last season, but kicked off the new campaign by winning the Super Cup after beating Royal Union Saint-Gilloise. The team made it through the Champions League qualifying rounds by beating some tough opponents: first Salzburg with an aggregate score of 4-2, and then crushing Rangers with a resounding 9-1 aggregate score. However, in the domestic league, after these victories, Bruges was unable to maintain its winning streak: it drew 1-1 with Gent and lost away to La Louvière. Bruges currently sits fifth in the table, seven points behind Royal Union.
Monaco finished third in Ligue 1 last season and once again secured their place in the Champions League. In last season’s group stage, they picked up 13 points and finished in 17th place, but in the first leg of the play-offs they were eliminated by Benfica after a 3-4 aggregate score.
The start of the current French league campaign has been positive for Monaco: in four matches, they have recorded three wins and suffered only one defeat away to Lille. Monaco currently sit third with 9 points.
